Buying in the Algarve gives you the flexibility of owning a property that is not only located in a great place for you to spend time yourself should you so wish to, but the region is considered to be one of the most popular holiday destinations in Europe.

With our wonderful climate, world class beaches, stunning countryside to explore mixed together with the friendliness of Algarvians and the exceptional cuisine many holidaymakers flock here for a unique experience in Europe.

The Algarvian cost boasts some of the best and most beautiful beaches in the entire world - coves, cliffs, caves, golden sand and crystal clear waters. Different types of beach, but all bathed in the calm, warm seawaters of this coastline. With so many beaches to choose from it can be hard to pick out a favourite but I present some of the very best beaches in the region.

1- Praia da Marinha

Marinha beach is considered to be not only one of the top 10 most beautiful beaches in Europe but also as one of the 100 best in the world and it is not hard to see why! Located along the coast between Carvoeiro and Armação de Pêra, this beach is one of the gems of the Algarve.
When you arrive, make sure you check out the breathtaking view over the beach. The beach is surrounded by steep cliffs, which gives it a magical feeling. From these cliffs you will see a view that you will remember for a very long time.

2- Praia de Benagil, Carvoeiro

Located in the little fishing village of Benagil, in the municipality of Lagoa, Praia de Benagil would be just one more hidden beach if it wasn’t for the Algar de Benagil, a stunning cave just around the corner to the left side of the beach.

What makes Benagil Cave special and one of the “Top 10 coolest caves around the world”, according to Huffington Post, is the perfect combination of golden-coloured walls with a round hole in the ceiling and two beautiful archways.
Only small boats, kayaks and SUP can get inside the cave. Be aware that boats aren’t allowed to disembark passengers in the cave.

3- Praia da Falesia

Praia da Falésia is one of the most popular beaches in the Algarve, attracting thousands of visitors every year. The sunset parties that are organised on this beach every Thursday afternoon during summer months attract many people looking for a fun way to celebrate summer.

You can walk there or take a car. It is a good walk from Albufeira. By car, from Albufeira’s historic centre, you must first take Avenida dos Descobrimentos. Enter EM526, take Estrada do Toy70 and then take Estrada das Açoteias. Follow Rua da Falésia until you reach Praia da Falésia. There are bars and restaurants in the area. Good for groups of friends and party-lovers.

4- Praia da Rocha

Praia da Rocha is the main beach for Portimão and has been a popular destination for visitors since tourism first began in the region.
This is a huge, wide and long beach, that runs all along the front of the Praia da Rocha resort up to the Portimão marina. It's a big easily accessible sandy beach that is great for long walks. And yes, if you are looking for a real beach holiday in Algarve, then Praia da Rocha definitely ticks all the boxes.

5- Praia da Fuseta

The beach is located at the easternmost tip of the Island of Armona, opposite the fishing village of Fuseta, on the mainland. The Ria Formosa is narrower here and the boat zig-zags its way through the same channels flanked by marshland and banks of silt, but the journey is shorter.

The sea storms of 2010 significantly altered the configuration of this narrow stretch of sand, and the small cluster of summer holiday homes that used to be here has now vanished. A new harbour had to be created artificially on the island. Called “Barra Nova” (New Harbour), it is situated about 1.5 km to the east of the beach’s bathing area.
This beautiful island enjoys a sea of enviable quality. Sometimes the sea gets very wavy, making it suitable for water sports like surfing or skimming.

6- Praia do Farol

Accessible via regular ferry service departing from Faro, the island of Farol is one of those forming the sandy barrier between the sea and the Ria Formosa estuary and forms part of the Natural Park. The small village of Farol is home mostly to fishermen or cultivators of shellfish in the Estuary.

The island itself is a touch of paradise with its endless, practically deserted, sands bathed by a gentle and clear sea. Rent a house on the island and enjoy a few days away from civilization.

7- Praia do Vale do Lobo

For a taste of the high life, head down to Vale do Lobo beach located within the heart of the Golden Triangle. A luxury hight quality properties one minute away from this beautiful beach are additional advantage for your perfect stay.

Praia de Vale do Lobo is a famous beach in the municipality of Loulé. It is the biggest luxury golf and beach resort in the Algarve. This paradise for golfers is synonymous with luxury. No wonder that some celebrities come to Vale do Lobo to spend their holidays here.

Praia de Vale do Lobo is a long but relatively narrow beach. It stretches for about 1,1 kilometres before you reach the next beach. The beach of Vale do Lobo is bordered in the west by Praia de Loulé Velho and in the east by Praia do Garrão Poente.
